Brooklyn Pool Openings: Summer is Here!
722 Franklin Avenue
brooklyn, NY 11238

We may have had a rough start to the summer, but it seems like the hot weather is finally here to stay. What better way to enjoy the start of the season, than to go for a dip. You can try to head to a nearby beach to fight off the heat, but if you can’t handle a New York City beach, there’s plenty of pools that can do the trick.

Not sure where to find a pool near you? Don’t worry, we got you covered. Here are 5 places you absolutely have to check out:

McCarren Park

McCarren Park Pool | via Time Out

McCarren Park Pool

776 Lorimer St, Brooklyn, NY 11222

Hours: Daily- 11am- 3pm, 4pm- 7pm

At the border of Greenpoint and Williamsburg sits the 35-acre McCarren Park. Within the park, McCarren Pool has kept the residents of the area cool for decades. The 38,000 square-foot pool along with its abundant poolside space make this a popular location for locals and tourist alike. Since the pool can hold 1,500 people, it makes sense why this remains a neighborhood favorite.

Red Hook

Red Hook Recreation Center Pool

155 Bay St, Brooklyn, NY 11231

Hours: Daily- 12:30pm- 8pm

There’s no surprise that Red Hook would be a great location for a quick swim. The Olympic-sized pool is a major attraction, and people love it. No matter where you’re coming from, this pool is well worth the trip.

Located in Bed Stuy, the huge neighborhood pool has an adjacent wading area for toddlers. The pool is the obviously main draw, with large crowds taking up space and poolside spots in the shade. Luckily, despite the upsurge of swimmers, the area tends not to be very crowded– a big plus for anyone!

A pop-up pool! Pier 2 of Brooklyn Bridge Park accommodates the pool that offers families a free and fun way to cool off with a great view of the city.
